This centre and program delivered by this centre are committed to becoming a comprehensive tool for community members to be able to use to address a dynamic number of issues.

It is intent of Kina waa noojmojig nanaweing to be able to provide service plans and programming to all members of this community including:

-Children/ Youth

It will create a supportive environment for both individuals and families to provide group services, run prevention and awareness campaigns and service the community with traditional and mainstream practices. Kina waa noojmojig nanaweing will be based services plans on the medicine wheel teaching (physical, emotional, spiritual and mental) and involve a holistic approach to healing the community workers and programs to ensure that the needs of all clients are being met. This may include, but not limited to:

-Servicing community members who struggle with addictions by pairing with other existing addictions prevention's programs within the community.

Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions Counselor

This is an initiative funded by the Ministry of Child and Youth Services. The Child & Youth Mental Health & Addictions Counselor provides early identification and intervention in the areas of counseling, skill development, and support services to vulnerable children and youth. Children and youth who are experiencing familial, emotional, Behavioural, and cultural issues that significantly limit their capacity to function effectively in their family, school, and /or community are eligible for services.

Counselling and Outreach Service’s include, but not limited to:

  • Support children and youth to succeed in school or in an educational /employment program.
  • Strengthen children and youths’ relationships and connections with their family and community.
  • Promote children, youth and their family’s with healthy lifestyle choice


AYMHAC worker with Chippewas of Nawash on and off reserve residing children ages 7-11 and youth ages 12-18 and their encourage to attend some sessions if possible.
