The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation (“CNUFN”) is accepting applications to serve on the Board of Directors of Nawash Investments GP Inc. (“NIGP”), for an initial term of two or three years.
NIGP is the general partner and manager of Nawash Investments LP (“NILP”), a limited partnership which was set up to manage and grow CNUFN’s for-profit businesses on and off reserve, and enhance CNUFN’s profile within the business community in a way that honours and reflects CNUFN’s history, culture and core values.
NIGP will have a Board of Directors which will operate independently from Council of CNUFN but will report to both Council and the CNUFN membership on its business and affairs, including on its strategic plans, budgets, financial statements, operational activities, major investments and partnerships. The Board will be responsible for overseeing the management of the investment and business plans of NILP and its affiliates, assessing performance and implementing good business practices (planning, budgeting, risk mitigation, setting policies).
