MMIWG Awareness Week

April 29 – May 5, 2021, is the National Week of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), with May 5 being the National Day of Awareness. We do not forget those tragically lost, and we will not stop fighting for more attention to be brought to the crisis.

To show our support for our daughters, mothers, and sisters, and let the world know we haven’t forgotten, we’re inviting you to share a selfie and your thoughts on MMIWG.

Take a Selfie

We’ve put up a poster at the Monitoring Station at the Coveneys Road entrance to Neyaashiinigmiing. Take a selfie of yourself with the poster or, alternatively, a selfie of yourself with a painted red handprint on your face.
