Grocery Gift Card Benefit Program Extended to November 27, 2020

One of the many ways the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation is helping our members during the COVID-19 pandemic and its unprecedented impact on our lives, is with the Grocery Gift Card Distribution program. The program offers every member household in Canada, on and off reserve, a $150 grocery gift card. Members outside Canada can receive the equivalent value in their local currency.

We are pleased to announce that we are extending the Grocery Gift Card program until Friday, November 27, 2020. Every member household that has not yet received this benefit is entitled to one $150 grocery gift card. This is a difficult time and we could all use a little extra on the table. If you, or a member in your household, haven’t yet applied for this great benefit, we encourage you to send in your application!

More information and instructions for the easy application process are available on the Grocery Gift Card Distribution page.

Grocery Gift Cards Still Available for Members

The Grocery Gift Card Distribution program wants to provide a $150 grocery gift card to every Chippewas of Nawash member household in Canada, and an equivalent value to all of our international member households. We know we haven’t reached all of our member households yet, so please spread the word to your member family and friends.

The program is scheduled to end on August 31, 2020. If you, or a member you know, haven’t taken advantage of this great benefit yet, make your application today. It only takes a few minutes, using our online application, or a quick call to our toll-free number. See the Grocery Gift Card page for more information and easy instructions on how to apply.

Grocery Gift Card Program Expanded to International Members

The Coldwater Trust Board has expanded the Grocery Gift Card program to now include all Chippewas of Nawash member households worldwide. Canadian members applying under the program will continue to receive a $150 grocery gift card, valid at many Canadian stores. It would be logistically challenging, however, to provide an equivalent gift card in the many places that our members live. International members will instead receive a transfer of funds equivalent to $150 CAD in their local currency.

The application process and limitations remain the same for all members. This is a one-time benefit that may only be claimed by ONE member per household.

Gift cards for Canadian members will be sent by regular mail. International members will be contacted by the Coldwater Trust manager to arrange a transfer once their applications have been approved.

As the pandemic persists, we are concerned about the health and well-being of all our members, wherever they live. We urge all member households that haven’t yet taken advantage of this great benefit to apply today.

Application Deadline for Grocery Gift Card

Applications for a $150 Grocery Gift Card are still being accepted. The application deadline is August 31, 2020, 4:30 PM. You will need to supply an acceptable proof of address with your application. Details are available on the application page.

Applications or proofs sent by regular mail must be postmarked no later than August 31, 2020. Complete applications submitted by other means must be received by the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

If you haven’t applied yet for this significant benefit to member households, the Council urges you to submit an application today. It just takes a few minutes!
