  • Wear a mask outside your home.
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Watch your distance and remain at least 2 meters from people you don’t live with.

Enbridge Gas Donates $20K to Nawash Food Bank

Enbridge Gas has donated $20 000 to the Nawash Food Bank. Matt Jackson, Enbridge’s Manager of Community and Indigenous Relations, presented the donation to Cheryl Jones, Food Bank Coordinator, and Chief Greg Nadjiwon at the Nawash Community Centre on Monday, February 22nd. A matching donation was also made to the Saugeen First Nation Food Bank.

The donation celebrates the completion of an Enbridge project to reinforce natural gas lines in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Enbridge expressed their gratitude for the professional, respectful and productive consultations they held with the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Environment Office, and are pleased to be able to contribute to each community’s efforts to improve food security.

Good Food Box Continues Partnership with Nawash Food Bank

The Good Food Box will again be donated to the Nawash Food Bank, for the months of November and December. The Good Food Box, normally offered as a stand-alone benefit, was donated to the Nawash Food Bank for the months of September and October. This has improved access for residents who have been able to conveniently pick up their foodstuffs from one source, and also reduced the number of person-to-person contacts required. The Nawash Food Bank is open to all residents.

While Neyaashiinigmiing remains under a State of Emergency, the Nawash Food Bank will continue to serve the community twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Delivery is also available and encouraged. Just call in to arrange a drop off.
