Free Driver’s Training Course

The Adult Learning Centre is offering a free four-week Driver’s Training Course to prepare new drivers to take the test for a Graduated Driver’s License Part One (G1)! The cost of the written G1 test will be covered for those who register and successfully complete the four-week program.

The course will hold one class per week at the Native Child Welfare Centre, on the schedule below.

Location: Native Child Welfare
Date 1: Wednesday, November 25th, 9:30am until 12:00pm (double-session)
Date 2: Wednesday December 2nd, 10:00am-11:30am
Date 3: Wednesday December 9th, 10:00am-11:30am
Date 4: Wednesday December 16th, 10:00am-11:30am

This course is limited. There are five spots available.

Employment Opportunity – Literacy Clerk

The Adult Learning Centre is seeking a Literacy Clerk, reporting to the Adult Literacy Coordinator, to provide administrative support to the ALC. In this role, the successful candidate will perform reception and office management duties, assist with database entry and filing, maintain program and office schedules, produce and circulate information and other duties as assigned.

Gardeners, Explore Indoor Composting – With Worms!

The Adult Learning Centre, in partnership with the Bagida’waad Alliance, is hosting a demonstration of vermiculture – indoor composting with worms.

This clean and efficient composting technique is growing in popularity with small gardeners everywhere. In this workshop, you will learn how to set up and manage your own vermiculture kit.

At the end of the workshop, all registered participants will receive a complete composting kit, which will be delivered at a later date.
