We would like to thank the community for being cautious and remaining diligent to keep our community safe. As the province moved into Stage 3 on July 17, 2021 we would like to take this time to remind the community that Grey Bruce has been designated a Delta Variant hot spot. Neyaashiinigmiing members are advised to exercise caution when inviting visitors into the community. Please take all COVID-19 precautions when traveling outside of the community to get essential items in Grey Bruce, and if possible, postpone all nonessential visiting, shopping and congregating in Grey Bruce.
The Council has adopted a Community Outbreak Plan to guide our response to any outbreaks of COVID-19 within the Community. The Community Outbreak plan can be requested by calling the reception at the Band Office (519) 534-1689.
The Community Health Nurse (CHN) provides COVID 19 vaccine clinics within the First Nation every 4 weeks. The last clinic was held on Saturday July 17, 2021. In addition, the CHN works collaboratively with Public Health Unit to ensure the health and safety is met within the First Nation.
We would remind everyone, the long-term defense against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated as soon as possible. If you have had your first dose, get your second. Check the Grey Bruce Health Unit website for vaccine clinic times and locations near you.
Everyone can prevent the spread of the virus by following the basic precautions,
• Don’t panic!
• Wash hands frequently,
• Watch distance (ideally 6ft), and
• Wear face covering correctly
• Wear eye coverings, like glasses, safety glasses or sunglasses as part of PPE
Miigwetch for your commitment and continued efforts to slow the spread of COVID 19.
